Be Still

This mixed media painting was created using acrylic, ink, charcoal, gold leaf and dried paint skins off the painters palette. The leftovers from previous works become the unexpected detail in current work. I love it because it’s unique, it’s interesting, it adds texture.

Be Still was inspired by my love of hiking with my family. It is a reflection of teh still quietness you can find as you rest near a stream and the plethora of life and movement in creation. It’s a juxtaposition as we are still yet everything around us, even the microscopic beings are in motion.
